Sebastian van den Bergh counsels national and international companies in all matters of individual and collective labor law. Among his specialties are advising on labor law matters from establishment to termination of employment relationships, collective bargaining law and industrial constitution law, preparation and implementation of labor-law-related restructurings as well as representation of companies in labor disputes. Another of his specialties is handling matters of data protection law, such as Industry 4.0, Internet of Things (IoT), cross-border data transfers and cloud computing.
He speaks fluent English.
He is a member of the Association of Young Düsseldorf Business Lawyers (Verein Junger Düsseldorfer Wirtschaftsanwälte e.V. [JDWA]).
Sebastian van den Bergh studied law and administrative sciences in Cologne and Speyer. After passing his first state law exam in 2008, he completed his clerkship in the Cologne Higher Regional Court with practical stages in Aachen, Cologne and Düsseldorf. After passing his second state law exam in 2010, he did his doctorate in Cologne at the seminar for political philosophy and legal policy. He was admitted to the bar in December 2013.
