Dr. Thorsten Schäckel

Thorsten Schäckel is a specialist lawyer for labor law. He counsels companies nationwide in the field of individual and collective labor law. One of his specialties is assisting with group-wide and company-wide restructurings and organizational changes, including negotiations with employee representatives and unions. In addition, he advises in all typical matters of co-determination rights (e.g. working time models, compensation structures and issues pertaining to the modern digital working world). His work encompasses nationwide representation in arbitration committees as well as labor law proceedings.

He is consistently recommended in the JUVE Handbuch Wirtschaftskanzleien in the field of labor law (most recently in the 2025/26 edition, as well as in the 2023/24 edition, which states: “extremely high level of legal expertise; is always there for you”). Thorsten Schäckel is also once again listed in the “Germany’s Best Lawyers” ranking by Handelsblatt/Best Lawyers 2026 in the field of labor law.
