Philip Seel represents and defends banks, insurance companies and commercial enterprises, their management and supervisory board members, in particular in the event of state intervention in the form of criminal and administrative offense proceedings or by fiscal authorities, and advises on compliance issues. He also focuses on internal company investigations and advises on D&O liability matters.

He is a member of the German Tax Law Society, the Criminal Defense Association, the German Association of Notaries and Managing Director of the Arnold Freymuth Society. Philip Seel is also a member of the Board of the Hamm Bar Association, Chairman of its specialist tax law committee and a member of the German Federal Bar's Money Laundering Prevention Committee.

Philip Seel studied law in Münster and obtained his doctorate degree in 2007. After completing his second state law exam in 2008, he worked in a major US law firm in Munich as well as a public prosecutor, including in the area of state security. Most recently, he worked for the Ministry of Justice of North Rhine-Westphalia. In 2016, Seel was admitted to the bar as a public accountant and in 2020 as a notary as well. Before becoming a partner at Grüter, he was already a partner at law firm Streitbörger.
